The French ski resort of Les Arcs, part of one of the world’s largest ski areas, Paradiski, and a long-time British favourite, celebrates its 50th season this winter.

The resort, the only one linked directly by train and funicular railway from London St Pancras by Eurostar during the ski season, has a whole year of celebrations planned, ending on 14 December next year (2019) with the inauguration of new “space-age” carriages on the funicular up from Bourg St Maurice to Arc 1600 where the original Les Arcs hotel “Les Trois Arcs” opened in December 1968.

The official celebrations will begin in Arc 1600 on Boxing Day with planned events through the coming season including the “50 Years Ski Show” running from 16 February to 11 March 2019. In addition a celebratory “XXL Music Concert” is being lined up for March.

As an added bonus, anyone who is turning 50 during the coming ski season can have a free one-day Les Arcs/Peisey Vallandry ski pass.
