It has been operating since 1939, making it the longest continually running ski resort in Colorado. Winter Park Ski Resort has 25 lifts that can transport up to 40,000 people per hour. The lifts include high-speed quads, triples, doubles, surface lifts, carpets, and a gondola. The resort also has a free shuttle service that connects the different base areas and parking lots.
The ski conditions at Winter Park Ski Resort are usually excellent, thanks to its high elevation (9,000 to 12,060 feet), abundant snowfall (more than 300 inches per year), and extensive snowmaking system (covering more than 1/3 of the trails).
