It has been a snowy few days in the French Alps and there looks to be more to come later this week with another 30-40cm of snow forecast for many areas.
La Rosiere, which had 30cm of fresh snow on Monday/Tuesday, has the country’s deepest base at 4.7m but most other major ski areas in France have very healthy bases for mid-March, with 2-4.2m at Avoriaz in the Portes du Soleil for example, which also scored more than 30cm of fresh snow earlier this week.

So a mixture of sunny spells, cloudy days and snow coming up with no real sign of a spring thaw yet, except a little at lower elevations.
