The European winter season has come to an end, but there are new beginnings happening at Planks Clothing.
Planks have announced the hire of Jamie Reid as their new Managing Director. Jamie has been in the outdoor industry for over a decade, and has gained a huge amount of experience in sales, product and marketing for brands such as Arc’teryx, Smartwool, Five Ten and Mountain Hardwear.
Planks Founder Jim Adlington states, ‘We are very proud to have Jamie on board, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company and I see this an important step in the company’s growth. I have known him for a few years and we share the same thoughts about the future of the brand. We will be working closely to ensure Planks is a key player in the ski apparel market and we will continue to build on the success of the brand.’
The ethos of Planks is to make great product for skiers and have fun while doing it. They have gained momentum in the last 5 years, making decisions to move into more technical products, opening 4 flagships stores across the Alps and supporting a impressive team of riders, including James ‘Woodsy’ Woods, Nico Porteous, Lupe Hagearty, and the Real Skifi crew to name a few.
Alongside this, they have been developing some amazing events both in the UK and in resorts to help support the grassroots and local communities.
