A new airport transfer service using all electric cars to reach French ski resorts from Geneva and Chambery Airports has been launched.

ZEAT (Zero Emission Airport Transfers) will run a VIP transfer service using Tesla’s brand new Model X SUV.

“Tesla is the world leader in electric cars and their new SUV stands head and shoulders above all other vehicles in its class for everything from safety and comfort through to speed and handling,” said a ZEAT spokesperson, adding, “We are the first in the French Alps to offer such a ground breaking service.”

ZEAT will be offering transfers from Geneva and Chambery to all resorts in the Tarentaise including Val d’Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs, La Plagne, Courchevel and Meribel.

Tesla’s X SUV can carry up to six passengers and with the two rear seats folded flat the Model X has a cavernous boot. Even with the rear seats in use there is still considerable space behind them plus space under the bonnet where the engine would normally be and in addition to this the ZEAT vehicles will also use a rear tow bar mounted luggage box when there are groups of five or more.

ZEAT will offer a fixed price regardless of time and date of 500 euros each way from Chambery airports and 600 euros each way from Geneva airport.

The company’s  vehicle charging will be done partly through a bank of solar panels on the roof of their depot and partly using power from the grid which is supplied through the local hydroelectric plants, meaning the company is able to offer an airport transfer service that is genuinely carbon emission free.

The service will be run by the same team who have operated the Cool Bus transfer service who have over 15 years of experience in the industry.
