Avoriaz has hit a 4m base on its upper runs, one of the deepest it has ever reported, after fresh snowfall through the weekend.
The base depth on lower runs is apparently neatly half that number at 2m – so it’s looking good for the last month or so of the ski season.

More snow is now expected this week which could amount to more than a foot (30cm) more by Wednesday.
All of the centre’s lifts are reported to be turning and around 95% of runs open.
