Spring Fling 2026

I’m going to tell you about the best week of the year for girl snowboarders! When a group of like minded snowboard girls come together, mixed with sun/ snow/ shred…that’s when the magic happens

Myself and Corinne Mayhew (aka Cozza) run a snowboard progression camp for girl snowboarders in the French Alpes each season. This year was our 8th year, 5th year in Tignes. Not only do you have the best, most supportive snowboard coaching on the hill, you have endless fun off the mountain too including yoga, gymnastics, mindfulness, skating, games, apres….to name but a few.  It’s more than just a camp, it feels like a real family for a week, a nurturing home from home with an added splash of ADVENTURE. That’s what makes Spring Fling really special.

Here’s what went down in 2026

Spring Fling 2026

DAY 1- ARRIVAL DAY

I’ve said it before, I always get so nervous before we meet the girls. But I should learn my lesson, I never need to be as each year we get the most incredible group of ladies. The arrival day is all about getting to the resort, settling into the chalet, meeting everyone and taking in the beautiful mountain scenery. Myself and Cozza do a little welcome meeting at dinnner time to chat about the week, and of course hand out the highly anticipated goody bags (thank you SO much Eivy, 686, Suntribe, Puravida, Yeti, Fourtwentea, Tignes Spirit…..best year yet!!!) Early nights all round ready for the first day

DAY 2

Spring Fling 2026

FIRST DAY!!!! We have a slower morning on the first day to allow time to set up equipment (we can help) or pick up hire stuff. Also discuss how many layers to wear (always the question!). Myself and Cozza come to the chalet in the morning to help with everything. Once on the hill, it’s very much a find-your-feet kinda day. Dusting off those rusty snowboard legs. Once everyone’s warmed up Cozza goes through some basic techniques to get everyone thinking and some exercises to get the snowboard juices flowing. No matter what your level, you will have something to work on and practice that will improve your own snowboarding.

Chill out after the first day….until Games Night that is. With a re-vamp of games this yeer as we had a returning customer 🩷 Such a good thing to do early on in the week to break the ice and team building….and oh so funny!!!!

DAY 3

Spring Fling 2026

BLUEBIRD!!! First on the agenda was seeking out the fresh powder that had fallen. The girls (me included!) were all a bit nervous as we hadn’t riden powder in a long time and it’s such a different type of snowboarding. But Cozza guided us through the technique and the nerves quickly evaporated and I was stoked to see every single one of the girls buzzing on some fresh lines. To top off an already awesome day, we finished with some fun nose/ tail presses, jibs and 180s on the piste, everyone tried something new. We tried switch and the girls totally killed this! Put my switch riding to shame for sure

And what’s the best thing to do after an epic day on the mountain?? A restorative yoga session with hands-down the best view most of us have EVER had whilst doing yoga. Pretty zen

DAY 4

PARK SESSION!!! (and my favourite disciple!). We warmed up with some 180s on route to the park, then ran through some park lingo and chats then got stuck in. It’s all about working your way up in baby steps, building confidence slowly and steadily. We started small on the green jumps and boxes and worked our way up to the blues. We decided to hike the features to get maximum laps in! Honestly, the support and encouragement from all the girls to eachother was next level, to the point I considered taking them all home with me to hype me up on a daily basis!!!

I think everyone surprised themselves and achieved much more than they were anticipating. All the girls had the skills, we just needed to show them how to use them help them believe in themselves.

And when you’re EXHAUSTED, obviously the best way to finish off the day is with a gymnastics workshop (complete with trampolines and practice snowboards) I always found in my snowboarding career that flat land training and gymnastics helped SO much with spatial awareness, agility and technique. It gives a chance to practice new skills in a safe environment before you take them to the snow. The Beef Curtain grab was a particular favourite on the trampoline board this evening!!

Meal out tonight with the whole gang

We all slept well

DAY 5

EXPLORING DAY!!! We wanted to take all the skills and techniques we had learnt so far and investigate more areas of the mountain. It was such a beautiful day (again) so we headed up to the glacier for the 10/10 views (and photo opportunities). You can teach all these snowboard skills but really just riding and getting the miles under your board is the best way to consolidate. We each picked out a couple of things each we had found particularly helpful in the previous lessons (for me- my “feet peddling”!) to focus on as we cruised. Without even suggesting it, the girls were throwing crazy jibs and 180s all over the place. Sussing the vibe, myself and Cozza hunted down some cat tracks to get some more air time with the Ollie’s and spins- once the girls felt ready.

Finished off Day 5 with a skateboard wokshop. Tignes has an amazing indoor skate park which is super fun to ride around on. We had some friends join and the girls took to it like ducks to water

DAY 6

Spring Fling 2026

We give the girls a day off (so they don’t get sick of us!!!), to chill/ ride/ eat- whatever they want to do. This actually timed well with the crazy storm that hit on day 6. Although, I’m pretty sure some of the girls still hit the slopes anyway…. After a morning in the La Lagoon of course!! ( you get this free with your lift pass with an optional upgrade to the spa- helps with snowboarding progression I’ve heard! ). Sounds like they had a pretty full on apres session too….they went LARGE 😉

Sadly I left this day as it was my first Spring Fling back after maternity leave….next year I’m back fully 110%!!!

DAY 7

LAST DAY:( But was a finisher! Mother Nature treated Spring Fling to a huge amount of powder over night and it was another bluebird! We had hoped we could go splitboarding but the conditions had been so sketchy this season and Cozza did a risk assessment and we decided it wasn’t safe this time. BUT there was almost no need to venture too far as there was soooo much powder even on the piste. Cozza and the girls set off on some off-piste adventures. They did some avalanche safety training and how to make sensible decisions when venturing away from the pistes. The girls each had avi-backpack and did some search and rescue training with the transceivers

, shovels and probes). Cozza even bought a long a split board so the girls could practice setting it all up and walking etc. I must say, I was very jealous looking at the pictures coming through on the watsapp as I was back in the rainy UK

In true Spring Fling style they saw out the week with a quick apres at the Folie Douce, squeezing every ounce of fun out of this ultimate week

THE END

Spring Fling 2026

Cozza and I really do put our heart and souls into this week and are so invested to make sure each and everyone of the girls has a trip of a lifetime

The good thing is that everyone is slightly different levels, from different experiences, from different lives/ history, but somehow it just seems to gel so well together. Every year, each girl learns something new and comes away feeling a way more confident, happy, buzzing snowboarder. We make sure of it!

And the friends you make 👌

But do you know what makes Spring Fling the best?! The Spring Fling girls! They make our job easy, to the point it never ever feels like work to us. We are just on an epic snowboard camp with our girl gang
