Where To Ski or Board In Switzerland After Easter 2017

Switzerland has some of the highest ski slopes in Europe so although there’s been no new snow here this week and temperatures have been reaching double figures (well, it is mid-April), the spring skiing is excellent – so long as you can get up over 2000m, ideally over 2500m.

Most Swiss resorts are still open an several plan to stay open in to May with Zermatt, home to Europe’s highest ski slopes at nearly 3,900m, is open year round.  Ski guides were pictured finding fresh powder to ski here this week.

Although there’s little if any snow still left down in the valley (Saas Fee and Verbier among the few resorts still reporting any), up top Swiss resorts have some of the deepest snow bases in Europe, including 4.5m/15 feet at Gstaad and 3.3m/11 feet at Andermatt.
