Tour operator Inghams is offering more for ski lovers of all things Norway this winter.
The company is offering optional Oslo and Bergen city break extensions to Norwegian ski trips to Geilo and Myrkdalen respectively and extended their Norway season until the end of the Easter holidays on 11th April 2027.
In addition, responding to growing demand for flexibility, guests travelling to Norway can now choose any-day departures and flexible holiday durations, moving away from the traditional seven-night ski holiday.
Inghams are also adding more flight routes to Norway, with new direct services to Oslo from Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham, alongside new Manchester flights to Bergen.
Ski and city: Oslo with Geilo, Bergen with Myrkdalen
The new city add-ons are two or three-night stays that can be tacked on to the start or end of a ski holiday, with flights, accommodation and transfers between the city and the resort all arranged as part of the booking.
Oslo pairs with Geilo, giving skiers time for the Munch museum, the Opera House, Akershus Fortress or a fjord cruise, with Christmas markets in December. Bergen pairs with Myrkdalen, and is the gateway to Norway’s fjords, with its historic streets, famous seafood and the Ulriken cable car above the city.
Skiing in Geilo
Geilo sits on the railway line between Oslo and Bergen and is one of Norway’s best known family resorts. The ski area covers 34km of pistes (18km blue, 12km red and 4km black) between 779m and 1,178m, spread across Geilosiden and Vestlia, with more than 220km of cross-country trails on top.
Under-7s get a free lift pass with a paying adult, there’s floodlit night skiing through the heart of the winter, and Inghams guests get there from Oslo airport by train in around four hours 45 minutes.
Skiing in Myrkdalen
Myrkdalen, near Voss in western Norway, has a reputation as one of the most snow-sure resorts in Europe. There are 32km of pistes (14km blue, 13km red and 5km black) between 450m and 1,060m, served by nine lifts, and the Myrkdalen Hotel is ski-in, ski-out.
The lift pass also covers the Voss ski area, under-7s ski free with a paying adult, and the resort is around two hours by road from Bergen airport.
Why Norway works for a winter break
Norway has long been a favourite with British families thanks to short flight times, quiet, uncrowded slopes and a season that runs well into spring. The move to any-day departures and flexible durations makes it an easy fit for a long weekend or a short break during term time, and the later season end means Easter skiing is firmly on the table.
How much does an Inghams ski holiday in Norway cost?
At the time of writing, Inghams’ three-night short breaks start from £848pp in Geilo and £854pp at the Myrkdalen Hotel, based on the lowest available dates. Inghams is also offering buy one get one free lift passes in Geilo for passes starting between 3 and 24 January 2027.
