Guinness World Records have recognised Mia Brookes as the youngest ever snowboarding champion.
“Snowboarding prodigy Mia Brookes (UK) is officially the youngest snowboarding world champion in the history of the sport. Aged 16 years 39 days, she won the women’s snowboard slopestyle at the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships in Bakuriani, Georgia, on 27 February 2023. With an impressive score of 91.38, Brookes is also Britain’s first-ever world champion in the event,” a report by the organisation confirmed.
Thanks to her parents enthusiasm, Mia started snowboarding aged 18 months and spent five ski seasons in Chamonix.
Away from snowboarding, Mia enjoys skateboarding, cycling, playing the guitar, drawing and also recently got into crochet, she told Guinness World Records, saying it is “nice and relaxing after a long day on the mountain, or when travelling to and from mountain resorts.”
