Snow Camp has been named the UK’s highest-ranking charity for apprenticeships for the second year running after securing 16th place in the Government-backed Top 50 SME Apprenticeship Employers rankings.
The youth snowsports charity was recognised for the quality of its apprenticeship programme, its commitment to diversity and inclusion, apprentice achievement and feedback from the young people taking part.
Snow Camp Ranked Among the UK’s Best Apprenticeship Employers
The annual Top 50 SME Apprenticeship Employers rankings recognise England’s leading small and medium-sized apprenticeship employers.
Snow Camp’s latest result places the charity among the country’s strongest apprenticeship providers and makes it the highest-ranked charity on the list for a second consecutive year.
The recognition also highlights Snow Camp’s distinctive use of skiing and snowboarding to help young people develop careers, confidence and leadership skills.
Turning Snow Camp Graduates Into Snowsports Leaders
Since 2013, Snow Camp’s award-winning Apprenticeship Programme has helped graduates progress into roles as coaches, youth workers, mentors and role models.
Many apprentices return to deliver the same skiing and snowboarding sessions that first inspired them.
During the programme, they gain nationally recognised qualifications, practical work experience and skills in coaching, communication and leadership. They also help introduce a new generation of young people to snowsports.
Lara Kinnear, Managing Director of Snow Camp, said:
“For us, this recognition highlights our commitment to creating opportunities for young people who never imagined a career like this was possible, particularly in the world of snowsports.
“Seeing former participants return as apprentices and become role models for the next generation is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do, and this recognition reflects the life-changing impact they have in communities across the country.
“We’re incredibly grateful and proud of all our Programme and Wellbeing Managers, and to our delivery partners Coach Core, Lifetime Training and SDC LEARN, whose commitment and expertise continue to help young people build brighter futures through apprenticeships.”

Building Confidence Through Snowsports
Apprentices have praised the programme for helping them develop confidence, improve their coaching and communication skills and inspire other young people.
One Snow Camp apprentice offered this advice to future applicants:
“Never be shy and always push yourself. Don’t let other things drag you down and show everyone the confidence you’ve achieved.”
Snow Camp is now preparing to welcome its 2026/27 apprentice cohort, continuing its work to create life-changing opportunities for young people through apprenticeships, skiing and snowboarding.
