Snowsport England has a new programme this autumn and winter following on from their successful Go Ski Go Board last season which saw over 10,000 people participate in a taster ski or snowboard sessions or sign up for a longer course on England’s dry runs and indoor snow slopes.
Go Ski Go Board continues this season but the new “Go Race go Freestyle programme aims to capitalise on the buzz created by the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics and give more people the chance to emulate the skills of their Olympic heroes,” said a statement from the organisation.
The programme with include ‘Try Freestyle’ taster sessions at a number of centres giving people the chance to hit the snowpark for the first time and ‘Try Race’ sessions to give people the chance to try skiing through gates and experience the buzz of racing.
The freestyle sessions will involve learning basic freestyle tricks and flying over ramps and rails with a freestyle coach and the race sessions will take people through the basic and fundamental skills involved in Alpine ski racing. Regular sessions will also be available to those who try it, like it and want to do more.
The Tirol Tourist Board is supporting Snowsport England for the second year on the GO SKI GO BOARD campaign…and hopes it will encourage people to start their snowsports journey on home ground before taking the next step to ski in the Alps.
