Our first Head Monster 2019 Ski Review comes from ISPO 2018, where we had the opportunity to take a look at Head’s new ranges for the 2018/19 season.

Head’s Monster range has been refined and redesigned for next season, taking the number of skis in the range down from four to two and completely redesigning the shape of the skis. The old Monster range were quite a handful, a very hard-charging ski which means you really need to be able to control that power underfoot. We found them quite a stiff ski and do need a confident, aggressive skier to handle them. However, the redesign is said to be slightly easier to ride, retaining their impressive power but making it easier to harness.

The new design has drawn on elements of the Head Kore freeride range, which has proved incredibly popular in the last few seasons. However, the Monster are definitely designed to be more hard-charging and powerful, really high performance skis. Available in an 83 or 88 underfoot, we’re pretty keen to test these out on the mountain.
