Dave Ryding – British Alpine Ski Racer

STORY BY Megan Hughes

In 2017, Dave Ryding became the second British man ever to step onto a world cup podium with a second place finish at the infamous Hahnenkamm slalom in Kitzbühel and in 2018 he finished within the top 10 at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Games.

Rob Stewart from Ski Press speaks to Team GB’s slalom star Dave Ryding about learning to ski at Pendle dry slope, inspiring new generations into slalom ski racing and how cold it really was in South Korea. Ryding was visiting Tamworth Snowdome for the launch of National Schools Snowsport Week, a fantastic initiative aiming to encourage more young people to try snow sports.
