At the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, Italian ski racer Federica Brignone won gold in both the super-G and the giant slalom, becoming the most decorated female alpine skier in the country’s history.
Brignone grew up in the Aosta Valley and still lives in La Salle, a village just below Courmayeur.
Visitors can now ski the run that bears her name, piste 14, at Courmayeur, on the same Mont Blanc slopes where she learned her craft.
Along with the chance to ski Brignone’s run, Courmayeur will also open this season with two new 10-seat panoramic gondolas at Plan Checrouit, a project of around €40 million that replaces older lifts which, among other improvements, should cuts peak-time queues.

Brignone is the current Olympic champion in giant slalom and super-G, as well as world champion in giant slalom.
She won the World Cup overall title in 2020, becoming the first Italian female to achieve this feat, and again in 2025, as well as five discipline titles between 2020 and 2025. As of the start of the 26-27 season she has won 37 World Cup races, five Olympic medals and five World Championships medals. At the 2022 Winter Olympics, she won a silver medal in giant slalom and a bronze in combined. At the 2025 World Championships, she won a gold medal in giant slalom and a silver medal in super-G.
After a severe injury in April last year, she made a comeback just before the 2026 Winter Olympics, during which she won gold medals both in giant slalom and super-G, becoming the Italian female alpine skier to have won the most Olympic medals (five), as well as the only Italian alpine skier to have won two gold medals in the same edition of the Olympic Games along with Alberto Tomba.
