Western Canada is again seeing some huge snowfalls giving superb conditions for freeriders and on the groomed runs too.
Whistler Blackcomb reported 27cm of fresh snow in the previous 24 hours yesterday and 44cm in the past two days.
“It was the best “case of the Mondays” possible here, we couldn’t ask for a better way to start the week!” said a Whistler Blackcomb statement.
Elsewhere Revelstoke reported 25cm in 24 hours, Apex 30cm and Big White (pictured above yesterday) 36cm in the last 24 hours.
“We are happy to let you know that it snowed 23 cms last night and 30 cms (approximately a foot of new snow) in the last 72 hours, so we’ll make this message quick, as we gotta get out of the office now and rip those new runs on Grey Mountain,” said a statement from Red Mountain, adding, “Let’s just say that this is the week you will find out what that bib on your ski pants is for, with our four-foot alpine snow base and why they say ‘no friends on a powder day’. Hopefully won’t see you up there!”
More snow is expected today, then a few clear days before its due to start dumping again at the end of the week.
