British Nordic Team skier Andrew Musgrave finished a fantastic 13th place in the 10km freestyle race at the World Cup in Lillehammer at the weekend – the best ever finish for a British athlete in a Cross Country World Cup event. He combined this with a 25th place in the Sprint freestyle final and 50th in the 15km Classic Pursuit.

For team mate Andrew Young, he scored his best ever points in a World Cup race, finishing 72nd in the 10km freestyle race. For the women, Posy Musgrave was 90th in the 5km Freestyle race. Both races were also at the World Cup in Lillehammer.

There was some impressive form from Aerials skier Lloyd Wallace who finished 8th in the Europa Cup in Ruka, Finland this weekend. The result was Lloyd’s first top 10 in a senior event on snow, and with perfect landings and two twisting doubles the judges gave him a total score of 163.93.This was following a successful week for the Dorset skier, after he landed his first ever triple on snow last Wednesday. A video of it is on Lloyd’s Facebook page

GB Park and Pipe snowboarder Billy Morgan took on the huge jump in the middle of the Bird’s Nest Stadium at the Beijing Air+Style in China this weekend. Morgan performed well, making it through to the last 16 where he came up against Max Parrot. Despite scoring a big 84.3 he couldn’t quite match Parrott who made it through to the next round and eventually to the Superfinal where he missed out on the top spot, being beaten by Norwegian rider Emil Ulsletten.

In Alpine Skiing, Charlie Raposo was on the podium in the Copper Mountain National Junior Slalom, taking third spot yesterday. He will continue on the North American circuit with several of the Delancey British Alpine ski team.

This weekend will see Dave Ryding compete in the World Cup Slalom in Are (which was rescheduled from Val d’Isere). He will race in the first run at 9.30am UK time on Sunday 14th December.

This weekend will also see some of the GB Park and Pipe athletes competing in the Dew Tour in Copper Mountain, Colorado. On the invitation list are James Woods and Katie Summerhayes for Ski Slopestyle, Rowan Cheshire for Ski Halfpipe and Jenny Jones, Aimee Fuller and Jamie Nicholls for Snowboard Slopestyle.
