With 99.9% of the northern hemisphere’s ski areas now closed for the 2017-18 ski season it’s amazing that two of the remaining 50 or so are associated with one ski town – Banff.
Although the local ski slopes at Norquay are now closed for the season, Lake Louise stays open for another week and Sunshine will be one of the last to close in Canada in just over three weeks’ time.
Temperatures are finally above freezing but the snow is still lying more than two metres deep at both areas so its looking good for the final weeks in May.
