A new pop‑up SnowPark featuring real falling snow is set to open inside The Lexicon, Bracknell in Berkshire, this summer, bringing an immersive winter experience to the shopping centre for a limited 17‑day run.
The attraction, created by Icepark Limited and operated by Mania Events, will transform a vacant unit in Princess Square into a fully enclosed snow environment from Friday 7 August to Sunday 23 August 2026. Visitors will be able to step out of the summer heat and into a snowy landscape complete with continuous real snowfall and freshly made snow underfoot.
Using specialist snow‑making technology rather than artificial foam or imitation snow, the installation will produce genuine falling snow throughout the day, allowing families to play, explore and enjoy hands‑on snow activities during the school holidays. Timed‑entry sessions will manage capacity, and organisers expect strong demand.
Mania Events director Andrew Woodrow said the attraction offers something rarely seen in the UK: “Most people only experience falling snow in winter or on a trip to the mountains. This brings that moment to Bracknell in the middle of August.”
The Lexicon’s centre director, Tom Henderson, said the project highlights how unused retail space can be repurposed to create memorable experiences that encourage visitors to stay longer and engage more with the destination.
Designed for children and families, the SnowPark will offer everything from catching snowflakes to building snowmen. Advance booking is recommended with tickets are available online.
It doesn’t look like it’ll be possible to ski or snowboard on the snow. It British ski circles Bracknell is famous for its dry ski slope (above) which featured a 170m run and rare (for a dry ski slope) double chairlift. It closed in March 2020 for the pandemic, but its owners decided not to reopen. The site is reported to have remained unused for the six years since, with current plans for its redevelopment including use as a solar farm.
