Ski areas in the Alps have been reporting big fresh snow accumulations on their higher slopes for the start of April.

Val d’Isere reports fresh snow from top to bottom of their ski area with snow accumulating on resort streets, as well as much deeper up on the mountain as pictured above and below on Saturday, April 1st.

Saas Fee has posted the biggest fresh snow total so far – 75cm, with Crans Montana reporting 235cm to date and many others including Courmayeur and La Thule, 25cm.

Temperatures have also dropped again, back below freezing, and its expected to remain cold with more snowfall over the next few days. This is all well timed for the start of the Easter holidays after an often warm, dry March.
