The Freeride World Tour by Peak Performance has unveiled its 2027 calendar, with six events scheduled across Europe and North America as the series celebrates its 20th season.
A field of 53 athletes will compete for four world titles, beginning in Spain’s Baqueira Beret in January and concluding at the iconic Xtreme Verbier in Switzerland at the end of March. The 2027 schedule features four regular-season competitions followed by two Finals events, with only the top 60% of riders progressing beyond the mid-season cut.
The tour’s established stops at Baqueira Beret, Fieberbrunn and Verbier all return, alongside Val Thorens in France and Mestia in Georgia. The headline addition is the return of Snowbird, Utah, which will host an FWT event for the first time since 2014.
The season opens at Baqueira Beret in Spain’s Pyrenees on 16-17 January, before moving to Val Thorens in the French Alps on 25-26 January. The tour then heads east to Mestia, Georgia, for its third stop on 20-21 February before the traditional Fieberbrunn Pro in Austria, which again hosts “The Cut” stage where riders battle for places in the Finals.
After the first four events, athletes’ best three results will determine the standings, with only the top 60% in each category advancing to the Finals.
The first of those takes place at Snowbird on 16-17 March. Renowned for its deep snow and challenging terrain, the Utah resort has a long history of freeride competition and was previously a stop on the tour in 2014. Organisers say the venue’s Mount Baldy face will provide a contrasting challenge ahead of the season finale.
The 2027 campaign will then conclude at the YETI Xtreme Verbier by Honda on 27-28 March, with the sport’s biggest prize once again decided on the formidable Bec des Rosses face. Four world champions will ultimately be crowned at the Swiss resort.
Several leading athletes will return looking to defend successful records at key venues, including Sweden’s Max Palm at Baqueira Beret, Canada’s Justine Dufour-Lapointe in the Ski Women category and Germany’s Max Hitzig at Fieberbrunn. Canadian Marcus Goguen will also be seeking a third victory in Georgia after winning the event twice previously.
All events will be streamed live through the Freeride World Tour’s digital platforms, with weather windows extending beyond the competition dates to ensure optimal snow and safety conditions.
