Taste on the Slopes

A Taste for Skiing

The next edition of Alta Badia’s gourmet initiative ‘A Taste for Skiing’ will celebrate the festival’s 10th edition under the motto ‘Ski the Italian Way’. This winter, 10 of the best Italian Michelin starred chefs will take part in the initiative.

The concept of ‘A taste for Skiing’ is unchanged: 10 gourmet chefs will each be assigned to a refuge on the slopes of Alta Badia, where they will create a gourmet recipe to be served to the skiers throughout the whole winter season. Among the participating Chefs there will be the 3 Michelin starred chefs from Alta Badia: Norbert Niederkofler (Restaurant St. Hubertus at Hotel Rosa Alpina, 3 Michelin stars), Matteo Metullio (Restaurant La Siriola at Hotel Ciasa Salares, 2 Michelin stars) and Nicola Laera (Restaurant La Stüa de Michil at Hotel La Perla, 1 Michelin star). The dishes will tell a story, connected with the chefs and the local products, as well as the producers themselves. In their recipes, the chefs will focus on genuine ingredients, using top quality produce. Each dish will be combined with a local wine, carefully selected by an experienced sommelier from South Tyrol, who will create special and original combinations.

The initiative will be launched on the occasion of the “Michelin Starred Brunch” on Monday, December 17.
