It’s been 10 years since Bruno Delaye, a board sports fan, launched the first ever International Freeride Film Festival in the world. Since that first edition, the festival has become a major annual event thanks to its great snowboard and ski film selection, exceptional jury consisting every year of top level athletes, photographers, true mountain people and renowned artists, and also due to the worldwide fame of the event.
This 10th edition of the Festival, which runs over three days, will kick off on Friday, December 12th in Cauterets in the French Pyrenees.
Among the highlights of the festival will be a new Rip Curl production, Stepping Stones, directed by Olivier Pictet. This will be shown in the open air under the stars, surrounded by snow and mountain, while the audience sink deep in the 35ºC water with only heads out to breath and view and a hand to hold a Champagne glass!
Other highlights include the third chapter of the Deeper trilogy, with one of the most talented freeriders of his time Jeremy Jones.
On the Jury side an international panel of snow celebrities will include Markus Fischer, chief editor of Pleasure mag, a classic in European snowboard media and
Raphaël Delfour, an ex-pro snowboarder who was a passionate skier in his childhood but turned to boarding 20 years back.
