Although Val d’Isere is most famous for its winter sports, it is also host to an annual Winter Golf Tournament on the resort’s Manchet Vallet golf course.
The Winter Golf programme is much more than just a regular golf competition however, beginning on 27th March there’s an evening ‘Snow Street golf session’ staged on the village’s Olympique Avenue featuring seven holes through the shops and bars of Val d’Isère. Participants enjoy a welcome cocktail at the first hole, hot wine and a concert at the fourth hole, and many other treats in between
On Friday 28th March there’s a shot-gun start of the 1st round in the orning then in the afternoon an X-Drive Tour test from event sponsors BMW, followed by a mini tournament in the golf simulator at the Centre Aquasportif.
The second round is on the morning of Saturday 29th March and there’s a public snow golfing event on the Sunday, prize giving and special meals and events throughout the four days of the snow golf tournament.
Professional athletes included in this year’s tournament include karate world champion, Christophe Pinna, Number one French pro-Golfer, Raphael Jacquelin, Snowboard world cup winner, Sylvain Dufour, and many more…
