Premium Swedish skiwear brand Peak Performance are offering complimentary at-home ski servicing between November and February as part of their new ‘Get Alpine Ready’ mountain education platform built to give skiers the knowledge, tools and confidence to make the most of their winter season.
The company, which is celebrating its 40th birthday this season and has a physical store in Covent Garden as well as an online presence nationwide and worldwide, says that Get Alpine Ready blends athlete experience, professional mountain expertise and practical education, Peak Performance draws on its network of freeride athletes and mountain professionals, including Elisabeth Gerritzen and Henrik Windstedt alongside UK mountain safety specialists Avalanche Geeks – for a new series of films, in-store clinics and experiences.
The free ski service offer runs from November 1st to February 1st, 2027 and is available to those living in London zones 1 and 2 only. A member of the Peak Performance ski crew will drive the brand’s electric mobile servicing vehicle directly to your door, offering waxing and tuning free of charge. You don’t need to be a Peak Performance customer but you do need to apply for your visit here. Booking is already open.
For those not living in central London, Peak Performance’s Alpine Ready Youtube Series follows their team in the mountains, sharing the knowledge and experience behind a day in the backcountry.
Across three 7-10 minute episodes (episode 1 above, episode 2 below), the series explores the complete picture of being ready for a day in the alpine environment: from what goes into the pack, to moving through complex terrain, communicating as a group and knowing when (or when not) to move forward. It covers everything from equipment selection and layering to transceiver use, proving and shovelling.
Gerritzen and Windstedt bring their experience as professional freeride skiers, while Avalanche Geeks provide the specialist mountain knowledge behind the programme. Importantly, the result is intended not as a replacement for professional instruction, but as a starting point: helping more skiers ask better questions, understand the decisions being made around them and continue developing their own mountain knowledge.
Peak Performance will also be taking the programme to communities across the globe with mountain education clinics globally aiming to reach more than 5,000 skiers worldwide and create opportunities for people to learn directly from athletes, guides and mountain professionals.
“These sessions are not a substitute for a professional avalanche course – but attendees should leave with a clearer sense of which course is right for them to book next,” a Peak Performance spokesperson said.
