It has been another often snowy week in Switzerland with falls of up to 40cm of fresh snow reported over the weekend, Saas Fee reported 40cm.
Otherwise it’s a mixed picture with some snowy days (Davos is pictured on Tuesday 20th March), some sunny, some cloudy but dry and at time windy conditions which have pushed the avalanche danger up to level 3 ‘considerable’ at some areas.

Snow depths remain exceptional and include some of the deepest recorded bases in the world at present, including Engelberg with more than 22 feet (665 cm) on its Titlis glacier where the ski season continues for another two months and Andermatt where the snow depth is more than 5 metres up top. Lower down its nearer 70cm but they’ve had 30cm of fresh.
Temperatures look like they’ll remain fairly low over the weak ahead with not much fresh snow in the immediate forecast.
