It’s a snowy end to the season in parts of the US, including Colorado, where ski areas have reported several feet of fresh snow in the past 72 hours – Copper Mountain posting the biggest accumulation of 69cm of snow since Friday.
It’s a little ironic as more than half the ski areas in the state have closed for the season and most of the remainder will next weekend, although some, like Arapahoe Basin, aim t stay open to May or even June.

Western Canada, too, has had a snowy few days with resorts in BC clocking up 15-35cm of fresh cover in the past 72 hours, although some including Whistler are seeing that as rain on lower slopes.
Most Canadian ski areas either closed forth season this weekend or will do next, but some including Sunshine and Lake Louise at Banff plus Whistler of course, will be staying open in to May.
