A marriage proposal made on a chairlift at Snow Summit ski area in California went badly wrong when bachelor Sean Strickland opened the box containing the engagement ring and it promptly fell out and dropped around 15 metres in to thick scrub below the chair.
His intended fiancé Karen Yeoman initially thought the event was a joke but she and Strickland ended up spending several hours back underneath the lift trying to find the ring, according to a report by KMIR’s Vince Marino.
After two separate searches by Snow Summit resort teams there eventually was a happy ending to the tale when Snow Summit’s lift operations supervisor Shannon White finally found the ring under a branch having continuing the search in their spare time.
Vince Marino reports that Karen and Sean are yet to set a marriage date or venue but are now considering Snow Summit’s location of Big Bear in California and with Shannon and other key searchers from Snow Summit definitely on the guest list.
