Tightrope Walk Between Cable Car Cabins

The Paradiski region in France celebrated 10 years of its existence, thanks to the spectacular Vanoise Express double-decker cable car, by challenging two of the world’s best highliners, Julien Millot and Tancrede Melet to make a crossing between the two cable car cabins.

In what’s believed to be a world first, the two French highliners walked on a 2.5cm wide and 60 metre long slackline suspended 380 metres up between the two Vanoise Express cabins, which have also had a tenth anniversary make over by fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.

The Vanoise Express is the world’s largest cable car, with each cabin capable of carrying up to 200 passengers. It links the stations of Paradiski in four minutes, at a speed of 45km/h or 12.5 metres per second, over a distance of 1824 metres.
