There’s Great Snow in Canada and the US for New Year 2017

North America’s snowy start to the season shows no sign of slowing, if anything still more snow is expected in the coming week after five weeks of near non-stop snow in the snowiest locations.

The greatest snowfall has been in the Pacific Northwest, with resorts like Mt Baker in Washington State, Jackson Hole in Wyoming (video below) and Revelstoke in BC (pictured top) , Canada both reporting more than 6m/20 feet of snowfall this season.

Resorts across the West continue to issue ‘Powder Alarms’ for 20cm/8 inches or more fresh snow in 24 hours seemingly almost every day.  The good news is it’s not just the West either, in New England on the US East Coast and Quebec in Canada to the north the snow has been falling in abundance too.

So, at almost all the destination ski areas across the US and Canada from East to West conditions are generally very good to excellent with all or most lifts and runs open and good freeriding for those wishing to head off the groomed runs.
