The start of work on the long-planned Snoasis indoor snow centre in Swindon has been delayed for around six months, its developers say.

Work on the site was due to begin around now, but won’t start until the end of the year developers Seven Capital told the local Swindon Advertiser.

A Seven capital spokesperson told the advertiser there had been a delay in securing finance, which he said was partially due to Brexit uncertainty, but said that the money required was now secured and that the next stage was detailed design for the construction of the development.

The £270m development will be the UK’s seventh and most southerly indoor snow centre when it opens, now scheduled for 2022, and will be managed by the team that runs The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead.
