Solden is just coming up to three months open having first started its glacier season at the start of September.
The season has got better and better since then. With its base at the summit now nearing two metres (186cm/over six feet now) it’s hard to believe the cover was quite thin back at the season start after a long hot summer.
There’s been another 10cm of snow in the last 24 hours and a similar amount is expected for the weekend.
27 of 40 runs open with Slope 22 the latest to open, yesterday Thursday 30th November.
