It’s been a lovely sunny week, mostly, in Solden.
Temperatures are rising though and whilst there’s still 3.3m (11 feet) of snow up on the glacier, the snow has almost gone at village level (5cm/2 inches reported) with temperatures reaching double digits above freezing.
The resort’s long season, which began more than 8 months ago in early September last year and has been one of the snowiest for years, still has a fortnight left to run. It looks like it will turn colder, for a few days at least, in the coming week too with a chance of snow on Tuesday.
