Ghanaian skier Kwame Nkrumah-Acheampong, also known as ‘The Snow Leopard,’ has decided to finish his competitive career after finishing 47th out of 102 in the Olympic Slalom in Whistler last week. Kwame first learned to ski when working at the indoor SNO!zone centre ion Milton Keynes and in the months prior to the Olympics was sponsored by The Snow Centre at Hemel Hempstead, north of London. Kwame now plans to open a grass skiing slope in Ghana, and has announced that he has found a suitable site. Heavy machinery will be required to smooth out the slope which will then be seeded before grass skiing can begin.
