Non-Skiing Winter Activities

Back to Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm

High flyers will be thrilled with the Flying Fox XXL at the Asitz in Saalfelden Leogang. Adrenaline levels will be sky high on one of the longest and fastest steel rope slides in the world, where your speed will reach up to 130 km/h on the 1.6 km long steel rope. In the Talschluss of Saalbach Hinterglemm, you will find the highest Treetop Trail in Europe. Combine a visit to the Treetop Trail with the “Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps”, a truly unique project.

Tobogganing guarantees fun for young and old alike. You will find numerous toboggan runs and floodlit pistes throughout the region – each one unique in its own way. For a slightly different tobogganing experience, try out Timoks Coaster at the Streuböden middle station in Fieberbrunn. Whizz downwards on a two-seater toboggan and take a comfortable ride back up the mountain again. And the best part is, with a valid ski pass you can use Timoks Coaster free of charge!

Ice skaters will enjoy the natural rink at the Ritzensee, near Saalfelden, with the picturesque backdrop of the Steinernen Meer Mountains. At the Sportzentrum ice-skating rink in Saalbach Hinterglemm, you can pirouette to your heart’s content.

Snowshoeing is a unique experience in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, thanks to the natural landscape and incomparable panorama. Only the crunching of snow beneath one’s feet interrupts the silence when you are out a hike or snow-shoeing in a winter wonderland. Going on a winter hike accompanied by llamas Ronaldo, Loriot, Coco, Felix and Diego along with local farm owner Barbara Steinlechner, is a truly unique experience. Try your hand at traditional “Moarn” curling, a sport that is well loved by the locals.

A horse-drawn sleigh ride is an activity which can be enjoyed by romantics as well as people of all ages. Ps: Those who would prefer to head up the mountain without the aid of a lift, can enjoy one of the various guided ski tours and ski touring evenings on offer.

After a day packed with adventure, take time out to relax in the spa. Bathe in the warm waters of the Erlebnis Aubad in Fieberbrunn where there is a swimming channel that connects the indoor to the outdoor pool where you will find a large sports pool and a children’s paddling pool.
