Western Italy has had the most snow in the Alps over the past week. Snowfalls of up to 50cm in 48 hours and 30cm in 24 hours were posted by ski areas in the Piedmont region.
The week ahead looks like Western Italy will stay snowy too – the same area is expected to get 20-40cm more snowfall by the weekend.

It is cold across the country, as further north, and the world’s media got excited by the first snowfalls in Rome for six years earlier this week. Indeed there has been snow across the country with Tuscany and the Apennines seeing some of the biggest snowfalls in Europe for the past seven days.
