Valentine’s Day 2018 is nearly upon us so if you want to find lasting love in the snow you better get a move on.
Everyone knows that the families that skis together, stays together, and before there’s a family you need to find your true love.
Let’s get things started:
Lifts of Love; Mt Norquay, Banff, Canada (pictured top)
Speed dating on a, “high speed quad to the heart” kicks off with check in at 6pm before the lift of love starts rolling at 7pm. If it’s all going well (or if it isn’t, for a final spin of the dice), there’s an après ski mixer with live DJ in The Lone Pine from 9pm.
Have you ever skied on the most romantic track of the Dolomites? The "Pista degli innamorati" is 12 km long from Col Margherita to Falcade. Try it and you will fall in love… ❤️Further information here: http://bit.ly/2s1p68VSki Area San Pellegrino – Dolomiti #dolomitisuperski #fallinlove

The “Piste of love”, San Pellegrino, The Dolomities, Italy
It’s not entirely clear why this 12km long ruin that descends 1400 vertical metres is the most romantic in the world, but it’s not wise to argue with Dolomiti Superski, and they did make this nice video to try to prove their point. I’m kind of convinced…
Pop-up Animations; Les Menuires, 3 Valleys, France
What is a ‘Pop-Up Animation’ exactly? We’re not totally sure but we’re excited to find out! Les Menuires promise, “Secret surprises popping up during Valentine’s Day around the slopes” and give two hints; (1) “Look out for the online countdown to the next secret surprise,” and (2) “Look out for a giant red button around the ski area and village centre.”
Marry Me and Ski For Free; Loveland, Colorado, USA
For nearly three decades Loveland has been the ski world’s top Valentine’s Day destination – the clue is in the name. Each year there’s a mountain top mass marriage/vows renewal (70 couples attended last year) and those in wedding attire get a free lift ticket. So it’s a true love win plus a free skiing win. What could be better?
I Love Mont Chéry; Les Gets, France
Les Gets does Valentine’s Day better than most of the world’s ski resorts, running specially decorated gondola cabins up to Mont Chéry where you’ll be served with a glass of fizz on the ride up. Then there’s a special romantic meal in the Belvédère restaurant at the top. The event runs from 6 to 11pm on the 14th.
$14 Valentine’s Day Lift Tickets; Sugarbush Resort, Vermont, USA
OK it’s going to cost you a little more than $14 (about £10.50) to get there, but believe me, Sugarbush is worth the effort, and besides it’s the thought that counts.
Valentine’s Day for Singles Competition, Zermatt, Switzerland
Zermatt have opted for a Valentine’s Day competition so you don’t have to be there on the day but you can win a trip there later. Advising you can, “Find your love at the base of the Matterhorn” the resort’s Valentine’s Day for Singles 2018 competition advises you to upload a picture of yourself highlighting just how single you are. Then the public votes and the man and woman who get the most votes for their picture (we don’t think there’s a gay category) get to spend a weekend together in Zermatt on an expenses paid trip, possibly finding true love.
The prize, a stay in the Parkhotel Beau Site Zermatt from 24-25 March 2018 includes a stay in a suite with two bedrooms, a living room and a view of the Matterhorn; a lavish breakfast buffet; coffee, tea and cake in the afternoon; use of the wellness area with pool, 2 Whirlpools, sauna facility; two ski passes for Saturday and Sunday at Matterhorn ski paradise and voucher for a “Hütten” lunch and a romantic dinner.
