The choice of ski areas open in Switzerland this summer has doubled! …from 1 to 2.
Saas Fee re-opened last month for its 9 month ski season through to spring 2018, re-joining its neighbour Zermatt, which is usually open year round.
The two centres have both been reporting classic summer ski conditions in recent weeks, with an early start and best-conditions mid-morning.
Both centres have terrain parks open, base depths are reported at 60cm at Zermatt, 135cm at Saas Fee.
Zermatt has Europe’s highest ski lifts and another neighbouring ski area, Cervinia in Italy, also provides summer skiing.
A third Swiss summer snowsports option sis to be found with a small snow fun play area at the Jungfraujoch, Europe’s highest rail station above Grindelwald and Wengen.
