A first guide book to off piste skiing in Scotland has been published. Scottish Offpiste Skiing & Snowboarding: Nevis Range and Ben Nevis by Kenny Biggin contains 91 routes detailed over 200 pages, and includes 170 full colour photos and diagrams.

The new offpiste guidebook is a first for Scottish skiing and sets out to unlock the potential Britain’s northern mountains have to offer.

“Snow filled powder bowls, exciting corniced gullies, open faces, and narrow and twisting hidden couloirs… On the right day skiing or boarding in this part of Scotland promises some of the best adventures you’ll ever have!  Perhaps it’s the camaraderie, the fact that it’s your own backyard, or the tricky conditions which make it all the sweeter when it comes together – whatever the reasons, there is some amazing offpiste on offer here and probably a lot more than you think!” says Kenny.

The guidebook covers offpiste skiing and snowboarding at Nevis Range, on Ben Nevis and in the surrounding mountains, including freeriding routes in the Back Corries of Nevis Range, challenging hidden couloirs on Aonach Beag and Nevis Range’s fabled West Face, and steep and daring descents on the North Face of Ben Nevis.

The book can be purchased at Nevis Range ski area on by mail order priced at £18.95 + P&P (£2.49 in UK, other destinations quoted on request).
