Glenshee and The Lecht have now closed for the winter but Cairngorm, Nevis Range and Glencoe are still open, the latter two intending to keep operating in to May – although having previously given a hoped-for May 7th closing day, Nevis Range are now saying this weekend may be their last of the season due to the thaw there.
Cairngorm may also make it in to May but have also been fighting a battle against the thaw this week after warm sunny days. They report that they are “hanging in there” with limited terrain open.
Glencoe (above) is the only centre still fully open with a base of 90cm – however temperatures are in double digits above zero in the afternoons.
