On the 16th August, the North West’s leading leisure destination, Chill Factore, welcomed Olympic Bronze Medallist, Billy Morgan, to launch the new Terrain Challenges on the UK’s longest indoor real snow slope in Manchester.

Terrain Challenges is a new freestyle offering from Chill Factore, which will run on the main slope from Thursday – Saturday most weeks and is aimed at those who want to try out their skills on different features. Terrain Challenges is developed based on feedback from guests, who have their say on the different features each week.

The recent launch event celebrates the next generation of British snow sport talent, as the Chill Factore Sponsored Athletes hit the new freestyle features with the face of British snowboarding himself, Billy Morgan.

As well as showcasing their skills alongside Billy, the talented youngsters were able to get tips from the star, who has Britain’s biggest snowboarding successes under his belt including becoming Great Britain’s first ever male snow medallist winning the Bronze in Big Air at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics earlier this year.

Members of the public were also invited to ride the slope with Billy. 10% of ticket sales from the event were donated to The Ellie Soutter Foundation, amounting to £500. The purpose of the charity, which was set up by the Father of the British snowboarder, is to support the mental health of young snow sport athletes.

Talking about the Chill Factore event, Billy said; “It was fantastic to ride Terrain Challenges with the Sponsored Athletes and guests at Chill Factore.

“The new features will really help the development of freestyle, not only for boarding, but skiing too. It’s important for youngsters to have the opportunity to develop their freestyle skills, technique and confidence, and by having weekly access to different features, it supports the pool of talent starting at grass roots and coming through the ranks.”

“We’re excited that this new offering gives an opportunity for people of all abilities to freestyle – from those at beginner level who want to give it a go and challenge themselves to the more advanced who want to refine and perfect their skills.
