A new ski school and dry ski slope near the Scottish city of Perth is now open for business.
Perth Ski School is situated inside the grounds of the private Craigclowan School on a new dry ski slope.
“The new ski school is committed to bringing dynamic and engaging ski lessons tailored to children of all abilities and levels, encouraging participation and a love for the sport from a young age,” a spokesperson for Perth Ski School said.
Headed up by highly experienced BASI ski instructor and ex- Craigclowan pupil, Alana Duncan, the Perth Ski School teaching team includes the ski instructor booking online marketplace Maison Sport CEO and Co-Founder, Nick Robinson, as well as experienced local ski instructor Murdo Harrier.
The ski school will offer tailored group lessons for everyone from ‘Freshers’, who are completely new to skiing and focus on basics like speed control and stopping, to ‘Swifts’, who are ready to progress beyond nursery slopes with improved control.
‘Cruisers’ work on mastering parallel turns at higher speeds, while ‘Rockers’ refine their technique on tougher runs. For the most advanced skiers, the ‘Top Cats’ program sharpens skills on challenging terrain, bumps, and off-piste areas, pushing young skiers to the next level.
Children will benefit from small class sizes, with a ratio of one instructor for every eight children. The classes will focus on skill progression in a fun and encouraging environment, ensuring each child learns at their own pace.
“As a lifelong skier and mum to three children who all love the sport, I am delighted to be opening Perth Ski School. I was a former pupil at the school and can’t speak highly enough of facilities on offer. Our aim is to create a fun, supportive environment where children can learn and grow as skiers and to build on their soft skills, all while falling in love with the sport,” said Alanna Duncan.
Nick Robinson commented, “I would always recommend taking children to a dry slope or an indoor snow dome before taking them on their first ski holiday, and whilst the ski slope at Craiglowan isn’t huge, its perfect for getting children up and running.”
Perth Ski School runs weekly ski lessons for children every Friday from 16:00 – 19:00, and Sunday from 09:00 – 12:00, beginning from Friday, 04 October. All lessons will span 50 minutes and are available for children of all abilities, from complete beginners to more advanced skiers. Classes are bookable in blocks of eight sessions per term at a cost of £200 per child for the block.
