Morzine for Families

Back to Morzine

Morzine is renowned as a fantastic resort for families, with a wide variety of ski slopes, plenty of off-slope activities and a wonderful family-friendly village.

Morzine’s commitment to the best possible mountain experience for families is reflected in the fact it possesses France’s renowned Family Plus label, meaning the resort meets the most impressive requirements and commitments for family holidays.

Smaller children will absolutely love the new family zone at Nyon, where they can enjoy the soft play and ball park at the Pointe de Nyon restaurant, see the birds, do a short educational walk, or use their sledges free of charge on the super fun sledging slope! Meanwhile, kids old enough to take to the slopes will certainly enjoy the range of pistes on offer in Morzine, from magical tree-lined routes to entertaining fun zones.

Morzine even offers a free entertainment programme for children, with games and shows on offer through all the school holidays.

Family Fun Ski Areas

On the Pleney area of the mountain, special children’s zones have been created, to give younger skiers an extra sense of adventure as they take to the slopes. The Chemin de ZouZous  is our personal favourite, a 2km educational piste with life-size replicas of wild animals set along the route, providing an entertaining way to learn about local wildlife!

You can also take on the Penguin Boarder, a fun piste for the whole family with banked corners, slalom, a tunnel and jumps. Trust us, once your children take this one on, you’ll find yourself doing it again and again… and again!

Outdoor Ice Skating

The gorgeous outdoor ice rink in the village central square is a firm favourite with families, especially as we’ve all come to appreciate being out in the open-air so much more this year! It’s the perfect place to round off a day on the slopes, providing extra entertainment for energetic youngsters and giving the whole family a unique perspective from which to enjoy the bustling town of Morzine. With plenty of options for a post-skate hot chocolate, or a vin chaud for the grown ups, it’s a wonderful way to spend a winter’s evening.

Sledging

At the base of the Pleney ski slopes, there is a secure sledging area where children and adults alike can enjoy sledging in safety.

Older children (and adults!) can take on the entire thrilling 4km run down to ramp up the adrenaline, while younger children can also enjoy some sledging fun in the snow on safe, gentle slopes.

Pony Jöering

At the Morzine Equestrian Centre, children can combine the joys of skiing with a love of ponies by trying pony jöering. The pony pulls the child in an area dedicated to their activity. If accompanied, it is also possible to go for a ride through the forest. For age 4 and upwards. Two possible options: A half day course taking place every afternoon from 2pm – 4.30pm and priced €45. A thirty-minute ride available every afternoon priced €10. Contact: Morzine Equestrian Centre – +33(0)6 32 61 41 98 –
