When Switzerland Tourism launched their #inLOVEwithSWITZERLAND campaign and asked people to write in and tell them why they loved Switzerland, they weren’t expecting quite the tidal wave of enthusiasm for all things Switzerland they’ve received.
“The response has been really great and some stories were just brilliant,” said a Switzerland Tourism spokesperson.

“Memories of me and my hubby’s majestic train ride on the Gornergrat Bahn from Zermatt to marvel at the mighty Matterhorn standing proudly in the spotlight of the Swiss Alps! We were in awe and totally snow giddy! The light quality was incredible, the air alpine clean and the ambience serene,” wrote Sarah.
“The trauma of moving from the UK to CH at age 10 faded as soon as my brother and I learnt to ski. The family trips to Laax every weekend of every winter and skiing all the way down from the Vorab 3000 started my love affair of Switzerland,” said Katja.
“I fell in love with your beauty and grace, Your powerful waterfall, gushing at pace. Your mountains, never ending, reaching the sky, The beauty of Switzerland that caught my eye,” wrote poet Ian after visiting Mürren.
