Les Deux Alpes is set to open their glacier for the October half- term break once again this season, from 22 October – 1 November. The half- term opening is becoming a tradition in the resort and this year the celebration of the beginning of the season is larger still, with a series of events being held on the glacier during the weekend of 22-23 October. A group of shops in the resort are joining together for the weekend to offer a unique chance for recreational skiers and snowboarders to try out the latest and newest skis and snowboards on the market- ahead of the full European ski season starting in mid-November.
As well as ski tests there will be a host of other entertainment and activities both on the glacier, at over 3000m, and also in the resort. There will be a skateboard competition in the bike park as well as a film preview, concert and a barbecue. Many local ski and snowboard pros will be in town during the weekend to meet their fans, and of course wow-ing people on the slopes with their skills. The resort is also offering discount lift passes for the pre-season opening. Passes will cost just €20 a day for the 22/23 October and then €26.50 a day for the rest of the week.
