From the moment you arrive at your chalet, you are greeted with a very personalised and attentive welcome. The staff are all on hand to meet you, with each member of the team introducing themselves. The team for each chalet includes an experienced chef, hosts, manager and chauffeur.
Even before your holiday with Le Chardon Mountain Lodges begins, you can take advantage of the company’s pre-arrival concierge service to talk through the smallest details of your trip in advance, including the option of pre-arrival menu consultations.
Once safely in your luxurious chalet in Val d’Isère, your daily service in your chalet includes tea and coffee in bed, fresh flowers, breakfast and afternoon tea. After a day of skiing, drinks are served with champagne and canapés in the main lounge area, before the head chef introduces the evening’s menu and invites you to head downstairs for a four-course, 5★ gourmet dinner.
If you want to head into town after dinner, the staff are ready with transport, or you can head back to the lounge where waitress service will keep you topped up with a range of wines and spirits from the open bar.
All the chalets are beautifully furnished and extremely well equipped. No home comfort is spared. They are immaculately clean, tidy, well presented and extremely warm and comfortable.
The chalets are mainly constructed from locally sourced timber and slate, and feature welcoming large open fireplaces, and there is a great attention to detail throughout the chalets with many art works, themed ornaments and paintings.
All rooms offer a different décor with their own features and furniture that brings out the best in each room. Nothing is repeated from room to room or chalet to chalet; they have all been individually designed, furnished and decorated.
The flagship Chalet Le Chardon itself combines elegance and grandeur in a sophisticated alpine style. Discreetly located in a perfect ski-in/ski-out location on the Solaise Mountain, it is spread over 800m2 with four floors of luxury.
Inside, there are two large sitting rooms, dining room, TV room, a sauna and wellness suite and two private massage rooms where in-house treatments are provided. There’s also a south-facing sun terrace with two outdoor hot tubs, as well as 18 foot swim spa. It boasts ten double or twin en-suite bedrooms and can sleep up to 20 guests. Some of the double bedrooms have 4m-wide windows opening out to the balcony and overlooking the mountains.
