Horses are well-known to pick up on feelings and help people achieve their therapeutic, educational and learning goals.
With this in mind, Amanda Locatelli founded the Equit’Horizon riding centre deep in the Bouchet Valley near the pretty French ski resort of Le Grand Bornand, close to La Clusaz in the Aravis region.
Amanda’s aim is to make a difference offering horse riding for all abilities (ages 3 and over, ponies for little ones) and equine therapy sessions for more vulnerable clients.
Her horse therapy venture, Equit’Horizon, also gives people with disabilities, learning difficulties or social issues (burnout, loneliness, discrimination etc.) the opportunity to create a unique bond with the horses and make positive changes in their lives.

Who are Le Grand-Bornand, Equit’Horizon?
Year-Round Equine Adventures
Equit’Horizon is committed to providing a variety of horseback riding experiences throughout the year. Whether you’re interested in a quick one-hour trek or a multi-day expedition, there’s something for every level of rider. During spring and autumn, longer treks allow you to explore the changing landscapes. In summer, rides are scheduled in the cooler mornings or evenings to ensure comfort for both riders and horses.
Pony Rides for the Young Ones
For the younger members of your family, Equit’Horizon offers delightful pony rides. These shorter excursions are perfect for introducing children to the joys of horseback riding in a safe and nurturing environment.
Equine Mediation for Vulnerable Groups
Equit’Horizon isn’t just about leisure; it’s also a place of healing and connection. They offer equine mediation sessions designed to support vulnerable groups, including individuals with disabilities or those experiencing social fragility. These sessions provide therapeutic interactions that can be both healing and empowering.
Meet the Equit’Horizon Community
At the heart of Equit’Horizon is a deep passion for horses and a commitment to community.
