Our first look at this boot for 2026/27, based on the brand’s specs and fit information. We’ll add a full InTheSnow review once our testers have skied it. How we test.
Wide feet and performance boots haven’t always got on. If you’ve ever been told to go up a size and ended up swimming in your boots, you’ll know why. The HEAD Edge 130 HV BOA is a stiff, high-performance boot built for wider feet from the start.

How does BOA work on the Edge 130 HV?
HEAD uses BOA’s H+i1 system, which pulls the shell around the foot from five contact points and adjusts in 0.25mm increments. The aim is an even wrap with fewer pressure points and a heel that stays put, which matters even more in a roomier boot.
The EZ Tech shell is designed to make getting in and out easier in the boot room, and both the Formfit shell and LiquidFit liner can be customised by a boot fitter.
Who is it for?
Advanced and expert skiers with wide or high-volume feet who have been put off stiff boots because nothing fitted. If your feet are average or narrow, this isn’t your boot: a medium or low-volume model will stop your foot moving around inside.
Our InTheSnow view
A 130 flex on a 102mm last is exactly what plenty of strong skiers with broad feet have been asking for. BOA makes particular sense in a high-volume boot, where buckles can leave gaps and pressure points. Just remember this is a stiff boot. If you’re still building confidence, HEAD’s softer Edge models are a better place to start, and we reviewed the women’s HEAD Edge 95W BOA last season.
The InTheSnow verdict
A proper performance boot for wide feet, with a fit system that suits the job.
What we like
- 102mm high-volume last for wide feet
- BOA H+i1 wrap with very fine adjustment
- Easy entry thanks to the EZ Tech shell
- Customisable shell and liner
Worth knowing
- The 130 flex is for advanced and expert skiers
- Too roomy for narrow feet
- Not yet tested by our team
Who should buy it?
Strong skiers with wide feet who want performance without the pain. If you have narrow or average feet, look at a low or medium-volume boot instead.
