There are exceptional conditions in the French Alps, particularly this early in the season.
The latest snowfalls that began at the weekend and are continuing this week are the biggest yet, with resorts reporting up to 90cm of fresh snow.
At most of the big areas bases are at least 1.5m already and Les Menuires is posting more than 2.3m.

The last of the big ski areas to open for the season including two of the biggest, Paradiski and Portes du Soleil, open permanently from the weekend and have so much snow they can probably open all their terrain from day one if they wish.
