Snowshoe Against Disease, 15 February – 15 March

Rent a pair of snowshoes from any Ski Republic shop (€6/day/person) in 13 top French and Swiss resorts and the company will lend you a pedometer so you can count how many steps you have taken. For each step you take, Ski Republic will make a donation of 1 cent to the leading European charity fighting leukodystrophies. SkiRepublic.com

“Snow and Fire” Show, Courchevel, 5 March

The culmination of Courchevel’s month-long fireworks festival, being staged for the 12th time this year, includes a prize-giving ceremony and the final show of this year’s festival.

Horizon Festival, Bansko, 7–13 March

Horizon Festival aims to be a hedonistic snow party showcasing 80 international DJs across 30 parties through a week of fun on the snow in Bulgaria. horizonfestival.net

Snow Camp Alpine Challenge, 12–15 March 

The unique charity snow-sports endurance event sees teams of four ski all over the Portes du Soleil, covering over 150km, to find hidden markers across two non-stop days. Tracked using GPS, the team which finds the most markers and covers the greatest distance on skis will win. snow-camp.org.uk

Monster Ski, Chamonix, 13–17 March 2015

The Monster Ski team aim to ski the height of Mount Everest every day for three days, to raise funds to help people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Since the first event in 2008, 79 people have taken part and have raised over £407,000 between them. mstrust.org.uk

Moonlit Skiing, Diavolezza Glacier, 7 March

There will be moonlit skiing from 7:30am to 11:15pm on the Diavolezza Glacier in the Swiss Engadine during Glüna Plaina, Romansh for “full moon”.  A “Full Moon in the Engadine” package is available at the nearby Grand Hotel Kronenhof (kronenhof.com).
